The title says it all: SubTsakalidis has been up for a year.
The 1st season fully independent didn’t quite hit the same, as the Memphis Grizzlies were battered with injuries. However, it’s also been a phenomenal year of growth and creativity for me, but more importantly the support has truly been remarkable.
Through the 1st year, paid subscribers have helped me raise more than $1600 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It really means more than the world to me, my wife, and our family. For those a part of this mission to raise money for St. Jude, I appreciate you supporting and donating.
What’s in store for year 2?
Hopefully some better luck and playoff basketball, for starters. Secondly, we want to raise even more money for St. Jude. Becoming a paid subscriber is one way to do so.
However, I want to continue exploring other ways to fundraise and bring the Grizzlies fan community together. Watch parties are one way. A few years ago, the rest of the GBB staff, my wife, and I ran a live show with a raffle of prizes — though I don’t know if I have the resources for that. Those aren’t the only ideas, and I’m open to hearing any other suggestions.
There’s no fundraising goal for this — it’s limitless. I want to raise as much money as possible for a cause that has saved thousands of kids’ lives — including my wife.
Finally, keep expecting more Grizzlies content. News, film, and further breakdowns. Draft content will chug along, even though the Grizzlies fell to the 9th pick. I’ll likely move my scouting report breakdowns through the year here as well.
Whether you’re donating to St. Jude as a paid subscriber, subscribing to get posts in your inbox or notifications, liking my posts on social media — I appreciate the support through my 1st year of independent coverage. From the bottom of my heart.
Here’s to year 2.

“Courage Thru Cancer,” a 501C3 organization close to our family, is hosting “The Gina 5K” on Saturday May 18th in honor of Gina Hollenbeck, who passed away after a long battle with lung cancer in 2022. Proceeds from this event will go to Baptist Cancer Center for cancer research and bio-market testing. Sign up on this link for a run Saturday morning for a great cause.
