Grizzlies pick Jaylen Wells with the 39th pick
With the 39th pick, the Memphis Grizzlies add more shooting with the selection of Washington State's Jaylen Wells.
The second round of the draft kicked off today. The Memphis Grizzlies selected Jaylen Wells, the 20 year-old wing out of Washington State.
The Memphis Grizzlies were the 29th-ranked team in 3-point shooting last season. When building around Ja Morant, you want as many quality shooters as possible. Wells emerged as one of the best shooters in the country that shot the 3-ball with NBA-range. He has potential to be a solid defender as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s a second-round steal.
I’m curious if he’ll be on a two-way deal or not, but he could be an example of the Grizzlies’ next value contract.
